J. S. SHEAFE IS NEW MASTER MECHANIC OF RAPID TRANSIT

Special to the EVENING NEWS.

Tottenville, April 13:-J. S. Sheafe has been appointed master mechanic of the Staten Island Rapid Transit and Staten Island Railway, with headquarters at Clifton. The appointment was made the first of April. Mr. Sheafe is a graduate of the University of Washington at Seattle, in the classical course, and also a graduate of mechanical engineering of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology of Boston. He began his career as a freight brakeman in 1896 and worked his way up to the present position.
