Cuba Modern Air Corps
HAVANA (AP)—Cuba's air force has been modernized under American hands.
The development started in 1927 when, at the request of the Cuban government, Capt. Roscoeham Beam,
of the United States air corps and two assistants were detailed to supervise the Cuban air service.
They found the Cuban air corps to consist of two pilots, four obsolete planes, and one hangar.
Today there are 28 trained pilots, 162 mechanics and technicians, and 22 modern, American-made planes.
During 1930 the Cuban air corps covered 570,000 miles without so much as a forced landing.
