Assessors To Start Work Tomorrow
J. W. DAVIS ANNOUNCES LIST OF DEPUTIES WHO WILL HELP HIM.

OFFICE IN COURT HOUSE WILL BE KEPT OPEN EVENINGS UNTIL EIGHT O'CLOCK

Tomorrow, April 1st, is the beginning of the new assessment year when all personal property and real estate will be listed for 1914. All realty transfers which have been placed on record prior to April 1st, will be listed under the new owner's name but if the deed was not on file with the county clerk on this date the taxes will be made against the old owner of the property.

County Assessor Davis and his deputies will immediately begin the work of assessing the property of the county. Below is a list of the assessors and the districts which they work: C. L. Davis, Lincoln district; William Michael, Union and Winfield; S. L. Shaver, Grant and Pawpaw; Dayton Rymer, Mannington, and County Assessor J. W. Davis, Fairmont and Fairmont district; Miss Blanche Smitley, office clerk.

Mr. Davis announces that the assessor's office in the courthouse will be kept open until 8 o'clock of evenings for the purpose of accommodating persons who desire to come to the office to be assessed. These hours will be a great help to many business people of the city and county who after their work is finished will take advantage of them.
