CRANBERRIES GOT THE FROST.
W. J. Bailie left last Wednesday for Mather, Wis., called there by the manager of the Williams cranberry marsh, that an absolutely bumper crop of cranberries are almost a total loss due to the frost. The prospects were for 1,500 barrels of berries and this is now cut down to 500 barrels.
In June the reservoir contained enough water to flood the marsh five times over. This fall, due to the dry weather there was very little water at hand and the berries frosted to a great extent.
