Bartow Bostick Arrested for Murder in Jefferson County.
Bartow Bostick, colored, was arrested by Policemen Elvers and Deignan last night, charged with the murder of Mamie Scott, colored, in Jefferson county seven years ago.
The information which led to Bostick's arrest was given by Dan Lenix, colored, who had been arrested for disorderly conduct and beating his wife. Bostick had had some connection with the row, and out of revenge Lenix gave him away.
Bostick stated at the police barracks that it was true that he did kill the woman, as charged, but he said that the case was investigated by the coroner, who released him. Lenix said that this was not true, and that Bostick is still wanted in Jefferson county for the murder.
Bostick has been living in Savannah ever since the murder was committed. He will be held for investigation and the authorities of Jefferson county notified of his arrest.
