Yogo Winter Wheat Dropped From Montana Seedgrowers Certification List

Yogo winter wheat, a long-time standard variety has been dropped from the list of varieties approved by the Montana Seedgrowers Association and will not be certified in Montana in 1959.

This action was taken to discourage production due to its poor milling and baking qualities. Recent publications explain the reason for this change and for the popular trend towards varieties which have the desired characteristics. Wasatch is also a variety which will not be certified in 1959. Copies of the winter wheat production circular published by the Montana Extension Office are available in the County Extension Office.
