RIVER NOT IMPASSABLE
SAYS BILL BROWN

In storm story of Monday issue of the Nugget we stated we had been reliably informed the river was filled with sand and the boats and lighter up river would not be able to lighter the SS Victoria.

Bill Brown, Harbor Engineer, stated today that he took the tug Carpenter out of the river yesterday and found sufficient depth of water throughout the navigable portion of the river to lighter the "last boat" supplies, so that we need not worry that the supplies will be carried back to Seattle.
