JEWS CELEBRATE EASTER
In New York—An Ideal Spring Day and all
the Churches Filled.
New YORK, April 2.—Easter Sunday
in New York was an almost ideal spring
day. There were not many strangers
in New York to-day who failed to attend
one of the big churches and afterwards
to view the marshalling of the McAllis-
ter cohorts. It was the Fifth avenue
feast of fashion. In the churches it was
the feast of flowers and music.
There was not a church but observed
the day in some special way. There
were even two purely Jewish congre-
gations which celebrated with flowers and
sang of the resurrection. In all the
salvation army barracks there were
Easter lilies and unusually fervid halle-
lujahs.
