Nine enrolled members of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps have been selected from the Waac organizations attached to the Wilmington Air Defense region to attend Officers Candidate school at Des Moines, Iowa, it was announced Monday by Lt.-Col. Oscar C. Tigner, commander of this region.
It is the second group of officer candidates to leave from Wilmington, he said. They will report to Des Moines shortly.
The candidates are:
Leader Clara M. Chopas, Junior Leader Margaret D. Klaiber, Junior Leader Marion A. Hagen, Junior Leader Catherine M. Henry, Junior Leader Clara M. Beakes, Auxiliary Magdalen L. Kiernan, Auxiliary Jewell F. Coffey, Auxiliary Alta D. Shea, and Junior Leader Mary E. Felber.
