Yesterday the Park gates were all shut and fastened by order; but some of the tars found means to scale the walls, or climb over the gates, and got into St. James's Park; but on the appearance of the guards armed, they withdrew peaceably, without any bloodshed, or any mischief done.
In consequence of the tumultuous assembly of sailors, the horse guards were ordered on duty yesterday at two o'clock.
The complaint urged by the sailors is, "That they have not received their prize-money." This complaint is very improperly directed against the government; for the prize-money is actually in the hands of the agents, to whom alone the delay of payment is to be attributed.

A large body of sailors marched to St. James's with a flag and petition for payment of wages and prize-money, referred to the Lords of the Admiralty. Park gates were shut, but some sailors scaled walls or climbed gates into St. James's Park, withdrawing peacefully upon armed guards' appearance. Horse guards ordered on duty at two o'clock due to the assembly. Complaint about prize-money delay attributed to agents, not government.
