Accident to Superintendent Eastman.

We are sorry to announce that Superintendent James H. Eastman met with a painful accident on the afternoon of the 19th inst., by which one of the smaller bones in his right arm became fractured.

It appears that Mr. Eastman was intending to make a trip to the boys' school in his autocar, and had stepped into the yard in the rear of his house to prepare his machine for the journey, and while engaged in endeavoring to ignite a spark the crank kicked thus inflicting the injury above mentioned.

Previous to this Mr. Eastman had been visiting the State Almshouse, where he sang and entertained the inmates in the sick room with selections on the organ.

After the accident he immediately entered the house, and Dr. Henry A. Jones, resident physician at the institutions, was summoned who reduced the fracture to such an extent as to leave the patient fairly comfortable under the circumstances.
