Full Text

Extract of a letter from Mahon, July 21.

The Danish squadron is arrived here, in a shattered condition, from bombarding Algiers, where they met with a warm reception. They are to stay here until they have repaired their damages, and are joined by three more line of battle ships, which are soon expected, and then they are to return to the bombardment of Algiers again. We find that they are not well acquainted with the use of artillery, and did not know how to point their guns to do any considerable execution; but the Algerines, by the assistance of the French, whom they have amongst them, played their artillery to admiration. However, the Danes have been of some service, as the Algerine zebecks have not dared to make their appearance in these seas lately.
