Full Text
Atrocious Murder.--On Saturday evening last, a young man, Albert Geer, (son of Mr. David Geer, Sr.,) was returning to his home from the village, some three miles distant, and about dusk had reached within four hundred yards of his father's house, when he was brutally attacked by one or more persons, and left in a mangled and insensible condition. No clue has been obtained as to the provocation for this inhuman and brutal assault, which ended the life of a peaceable, quiet and inoffensive youth.
Two negroes have been arrested upon suspicion for complicity in the murder, but as the matter will undergo official investigation, we forbear comment.
