Our City.—For several days the air has been cool, and the weather bright and beautiful. Our city which for months past, seemed to have lost its energies has awakened, and is now all life and business and bustle. Our shores are lined with steamers ready to bear the surplus products of the country to a foreign market, and constant arrivals bring to our merchants the means of supplying the wants of our own people. It gladdens the heart to behold the activity upon our wharf, and to know that honest labor finds some reward for its toil. We would fain hope that no cloud might ever cast its shadow over the bosom of this land, and that we might ever be as we have been, active, industrious, and free. If the political measures of the Government were wisely taken, we should have no cause to complain.
