Full Text

The Russian fleet in the Downs observes the most strict discipline. The men bathe in the sea every morning, for health, before their allowance is served out. The ships are hardly discernible from English, being built, masted, and their rigging set up in the same manner as the British. The National flag is striped, red, blue, and white. The officers uniform is stone-coloured cloth, green collar, cuffs, and lappels. The superior officers uniforms are placed according to their rank. The cockade is white, exactly the same as the ci-devant French.

They have Divine Service on board every day, and twice on Sunday.
