Full Text

ENGLAND.

On the 24th August, Mr. Hunt and his fellow prisoners were arraigned before the court at Manchester for final trial, as was thought, on the charge of High Treason. The examination of witnesses and the defence of Mr. Hunt were highly spirited. Mr. Bouchier, a crown officer, went from London with directions to proceed against the prisoners for a less offence. The allegation of treason against the persecuted patriots was dismissed, and they were admitted to bail under the charge of a conspiracy. Most of them availed themselves of the right of bail, and are at large. The lady who was in confinement is finally discharged. We will give the particulars next week, which are very lengthy.
