On the 5th Instant the Country People about Glins, 8 or 9 Miles West of this Place, discovered Smoke at an obscure Cottage some Distance off, and repaired there in a Body, thinking it the Rendezvous of some idle Gang. On their Arrival they found two Fellows roasting Legs of Mutton, on wooden Spits, at two different Fires, and another preparing more to roast; two of these Fellows made their Escape immediately. But the third was secured, who says his Name is Allan Cameron: On searching the Cottage eighteen Legs of Mutton were found, together with some Skins, whereby they knew the Sheep to be the Property of the Laird of Glins. By the Quantity of Provision, tis supposed the Gang is numerous, and that the Murderer of Glenure is among them.
