TELEGRAPH UP THE VALLEY.—Now that the telegraph has been completed to Harrisonburg, efforts are being made to extend it up the Valley to Staunton. Mr. Bingham, the agent was in the city last week, and assures us "that it is the purpose of the company to charge half the rates now charged by the telegraph company at this place, and to furnish merchants who may take stock, with daily market quotations, free of charge. Certainly these are great inducements, and cannot fail to attract the attention of business men. We understand that E. M. Cushing, Esq., has consented to act as soliciting agent of the company in this place, to ascertain whether sufficient stock will be taken to insure the continuance of the line from Harrisonburg to Staunton.—Valley Virginian.
