Full Text

Major Noah.—It is stated in one of the New York papers, that Major Noah, late of the Evening Star, is to receive the appointment of associate judge of the Court of Sessions, for that city, in the place of Judge Sapford, resigned. The appointment would be a capital one, and would add greatly to the mercy which would temper, as well as the justice which would govern, the decisions and proceedings of the Sessions bench. The Major is eminently qualified, by his disposition and innate humanity, to fill the station proposed in a manner which would greatly promote the cause of justice and of philanthropy.
