TRENTON, (N. J.) October 28.

On Tuesday last, agreeably to law, the Legislature of this State met at the State-House. Both Houses formed quorums.

In Council, Thomas Little, Esq. was chosen Vice-President, and John Beatty, Esq. Secretary.

In Assembly, James Cox, Esq. was chosen Speaker, and James J. Wilson, Clerk.

On Friday last the two houses went into Joint-Meeting for the purpose of electing a Governor of the State and Clerks of the Counties of Morris and Sussex, James Cox, Esq. was chosen Chairman of the Meeting, and John Beatty, Esq. Clerk.

JOSEPH BLOOMFIELD, Esquire, being the only person on nomination for Governor, was unanimously elected to that office, and the Vice-President of Council and Speaker of the House were directed to wait on him, inform him of his election, and request his acceptance of the office.
