MEXICO-TEXAS.--An arrival at N. Orleans from Vera Cruz, brings information that Gen. Santa Anna has at length assumed the direction of the Government, as President. An army will forthwith, as the papers state, be organized to operate against Texas, and the late President ad interim, Gen. Valentine Canalizo is appointed to command it. General Gomez de la Cortina, ex Count de la Cortina, is nominated first officer of the War Department. Four million of dollars and 30,000 men have been asked of the Mexican Congress to undertake the reconquest of Texas.
