FLAXVILLE

Jery Kerasek is tending fire at the jail.

Gilman, Floyd and Carl Molden are staying at Otto Stromstad's until their father finds another location.

William Cook, who has been spending the winter visiting relatives and friends in Maryland, returned home Wednesday.

Born, on Sunday morning the 15th, to Mr. and Mrs. Emil Ruud an eight pound baby boy, another boiler maker.

C. E. McCurry of Whitetail was a visitor in our city one day last week.

Mrs. Bjerky was called east last week on account of the serious illness of her father.

Mrs. Irving Bunse visited with relatives in Bainville between trains yesterday.

E. H. Molden left last Thursday morning for points in Canada, where he anticipates locating.

Henry Boyer, Flaxville's "butcher boy," made a trip to the country Tuesday in search of some good beef stuff.

Norman Olson and Gilman Molden went Thursday morning to Plentywood, where Norman will have some dental work attended to.

Miss Eleanor Molden went Monday to the reservation, where she will spend a couple of weeks visiting her sister, Mrs. A. O. Anderson.

A. P. Smerud, cashier of the Flaxville State Bank, returned Thursday from a business trip in the east. Mr. Smerud also visited his mother whom he had not seen for some time.

Clare Tollefson received a message from Peterson, Minn., last week telling of the serious illness of relatives. Miss Tollefson left Friday morning to be at the bedside.

Mrs. E. H. Molden went Sunday to Whitetail, where she will visit a few days with friends and from there she will go to Crosby, North Dakota, where she will visit her friends, Mrs. Pierson.

Vera Krassin visited at Medicine Lake over Sunday with her cousins, the Lawrenson girls.

Jesse Swihart, of the reservation, was a business caller in Flaxville one day last week.

Mrs. Roy Dunn left yesterday for Glasgow, where she will visit her sister.

Harry Barnhart went Saturday to Scobey to visit with his sister. He returned Monday morning.

Hans Ness, a farmer living near this place, lost a fine horse during the recent storm.

A number of people from this city attended the masquerade ball at Madoc last Friday evening. They report a good time and a large crowd.

Mr. and Mrs. R. Leer went yesterday to Scobey. Mr. Leer returned this morning and Mrs. Leer remained for a visit with her parents west of Scobey.

Mr. and Mrs. B. G. Justad are rejoicing over the arrival of a girl at their home, Thursday, February 19. Mother and child doing nicely.

Guy Robertson of near Whitetail, whose sickness in Oklahoma was reported two weeks ago, is said to be well on the road to recovery.

Miss Effie Lund, Flaxville's efficient teacher, is quite sick with tonsilitis. Miss Esther Cornwright is substituting for her at school.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hexom entertained a number of friends last Thursday evening. The hostess served a delicious lunch and guests report delightful evening.

Otto Stromstad, who recently purchased of E. H. Molden, his business and resident property in this city, moved Friday from his former residence south of the Great Northern tracks to the Molden house.

Frank Hardy, who has been acting as janitor of the school house during the present school year, resigned his position last week. The vacancy is being filled by Dave Martin and school is in session as usual.

The Methodist Ladies' Aid met last evening with Mrs. M. Gile. After a short business session a pleasant social time was the order until the hostess served a delightful lunch.

Mrs. L. H. Tousley has been in the country for several days with her sister, Mrs McCarty, who has been quite sick with the "flu," but is reported better. Mrs. Tousley's daughter, Mrs. Harry Barnhart, has been at the hotel in her mother's absence.

Mr. and Mrs. C. E. McCurry of near Whitetail, left Wednesday morning for Bremerton, Wash. Mr. McCurry has for sometime been afflicted with rheumatism and is going to that place with the hope of being benefited.

Peter Kurtz, who lives south of town, had the misfortune to lose two dogs last week. Mr. Kurtz had been trying to poison some coyotes that had been bothering him more or less, and the two dogs accidentally got hold of some of the meat.

Frank Murr and "Slim" Carlson have a way of their own of putting up ice. They have taken advantage of the cold weather by pumping water into the ice house and letting it freeze solid. They expect in this way to have sufficient ice by spring to supply the Flaxville demand.
