Full Text

The armament carrying on by Spain grows every day more serious. All the nerves of that vast monarchy, from Barcelona to the Havannah, have been exerted during two years to prepare a force which the people of this country considers without the least degree of anxiety: And yet it is well known, that by June next the King of Spain will be able to send 26 sail of the line, from 60 to 84 guns, 14 frigates, from 36 to 50 guns, and 40,000 land forces to sea. What such a force would be able to do against Ireland, while all the power of this country is exerted, and perhaps in vain, in North America, may be easily imagined.
