Jesse C. Stansel, chief of detectives, has offered his resignation to the police board effective April 15. The Kelly administration is expected to retire from office about that date or a few days later.
Stansel will open a detective agency in El Paso.
Detective Stansel has been connected with the police department since 1907 when he entered the service as a patrolman. He was made a detective in 1908 and in October of the same year he was made chief of detectives.
The resignation of Stansel is expected to be the beginning of a number of resignations which will be tendered before the new Tom Lea administration takes office.
