Charleston, (S. C.) Oct. 6.
The detachment of the Militia from the 7th Brigade of this State, intended to compose a part of the 100,000 men directed by the President to hold themselves in readiness for actual service, whenever called upon, were yesterday summoned, for the first time, to appear on parade to be inspected. The quota called for from the 7th brigade is 420. It is with great pleasure we can state, that a body forming that number, of active young men, all volunteers, composed of artillery, horse, infantry and riflemen, completely armed and equipped, paraded in Broad Street at 9 o'clock; from thence they were marched to the green, where they were inspected by Major Ward, their commanding officer, and Major Howard, brigade inspector of the 7th brigade.
