Important Business Meeting
To Be Held By Chamber Of
Commerce Membership May 3

A full membership meeting of
the Key West Chamber of Com-
merce to discuss several import-
ant items will be held at County
Courthouse, courtroom, May 3, at
8 p. m., Earl Adams, president.
announced today.

Promotion of summer tourist
business will be discussed, par-
ticularly with those member
firms who are engaged in the
tourist business.

The possibility of a home show,
featuring displays of items carri-
ed by local merchants, will be
taken up. The purpose of the
show would be to display articles
that the public may not know are
carried by local merchants. At-
tendance would be free, and cost
to each merchant exhibiting
would be held to a minimum.

Adams said that a credit clear-
ing system will also be discussed.
This would be a system whereby
a firm could check by telephone
with the Chamber at the time of
a sale before extending credit to
a buyer.

The State Legislature's report-
ed plan of altering the present
sales tax will also be discussed
by chamber members.
