Jewels Being Lost
by Careless Workers

Chicago, Feb. 21-INS-Approximately 600,000 jewels used in the manufacture of war precision instruments are being lost every month at the Elgin National Watch Co., Elgin, Ill.

This was revealed in Chicago today as the Regional War Labor Board took steps designed to solve the problem.

The board announced approval of an incentive plan designed to make workers more careful. Under the plan, the workers will receive a 15 per cent wage increase and other benefits if they are able to increase output of the gems by 73,000 units a month.
