Full Text

Eagle Education.-The Des Moines Register having recommended the Jacksonville Female Seminary to its patrons, the Dubuque Times retorts that it would prefer to support home institutions. Both of these journals are right; and we endorse both of them. Did we have, as we should have, a first rate Seminary, we should urge its support by our citizens. But Keokuk hasn't such an institution, and so we urge the next best thing; that our citizens patronize a Seminary near by, easily accessible, and of established reputation. Such a one is that at Jacksonville. It combines full educational advantages, and is admirably conducted. It is a very proper institution for our citizens to support.
