First Nominations for Gov. of Wyo
Thermopolis, Wyo., Dec. 19.—All controversy, all worry, all predictions as to who our next governor will be, can be dispensed with in the future.
The next governor of Wyoming will not be a Democrat by several thousand votes, nor will he be one of the old-time professionals. He will hail from the greatest, grandest and most prolific (agriculturally) regional empires of the state—the Big Horn Basin. He will be a progressive, too, with a great, large P.
His name when pronounced will proclaim his Celtic blood which spells constitutional progressive. He will be one of the younger set of clean, clear-cut, astute, enterprising business men of the state who do things to perfection.
He will be a man who does not make the dollars his God; he will not be affiliated with any antiquated grouches; he will be progressive rather than retrogressive; he will serve the whole people of the state along the lines of acute commercial, agricultural and educational activity; he will weld together the old and the new wings of the Republican party (a few chronics excepted, likely) in the state; he challenged the greatest emotions of the people of the state last winter as the house Republican leader by his new, clean and statesmanlike methods; he will not come from this Hot Springs county, but he will come from Big Horn county, and his name is Sullivan. Not the Hon. Pat, but the Hon. E. J. Sullivan of Basin, Big Horn county, Wyoming. The Big Horn Basin wants him as our next governor and the whole state needs him and we propose to make his nomination unanimous and his election sure.
Sullivan is the logical man.
