GANG OF SUSPECTED FORGERS CAPTURED

Seven Young Men Said To Have Secured $50,000 On Worthless Checks.

Chicago, Oct. 4.--Seven young men who are alleged to have obtained $50,000 by means of forged checks for small amounts, were arrested here last night.

The headquarters of the band was a hotel in the business center of the city, where they are said to have met nightly to write checks and divide proceeds. Saloon keepers, grocers and druggists were the chief victims.

Before the gang came to Chicago, the members are said to have passed hundreds of forged checks in St. Louis and Kansas City.
