GIRL STUDENTS ON STRIKE.
They Were Plagued by Offensive Odors From Neglected Laboratories.

Columbus, O., Nov. 26.--One hundred girl students at the Ohio university struck and left the institution because President Scott neglected to comply with repeated requests to put their reception, study and lunch rooms in proper sanitary condition.

Immediately below those rooms is the physiological laboratory and adjoining it is the zoological department laboratory. A janitor's carelessness permitted those laboratories to get into such a state that they emitted foul odors.

The young women met, formally declared the situation was intolerable and decided to withdraw from the university until the atmosphere of the rooms set apart for them in the main building is made wholesome.

A committee was sent to inform President Scott of their action and then the girls left the building in a body.

President Scott promptly excused them from recitations until further notice.
