DELAYED LETTER FROM LOWSVILLE.

Lowsville, W. VA., Dec. 4th.

Not finding anything in your paper from this section we attempt to send you the news.

The majority of our farmers have finished husking corn, and acknowledge Jno. Hood to be the champion corn raiser, who raised thirty-one hundred and forty bushels of corn from twenty to twenty-five acres.

Rev. G. Martin commenced a protracted meeting at Laurel Flat on last Sunday.

The school here is succeeding admirably as it has ever done. A very good example for our neighboring schools.

Dr. J. P. Clayton has about completed his house.

We had the pleasure of taking a flying visit to Mt. Morris and enjoyed the people's hospitality hugely.

The majority of the children of this place are severely afflicted with the whooping cough. We understand that there has been a new store started in the River Bend by Jno. Conaway & Co. Mr. Conaway was in the city (of Lowsville) last week after his new stock of goods undoubtedly a railroad would pay from Lowsville to the Bend. For further particulars inquire of J. A. Hood. Butter 25 cents, eggs 25 cents. Rags wanted at the new store. More anon.
