REV. DR. CRAVEN DECLINES.
Dr. Craven was recently elected to the Presidency of Soule University, at Chapel Hill, Texas. This is, perhaps, the largest and most commanding Institution in the South, and hence the election to preside over all the different departments, is very honorable indeed. But we learn that the Dr. declines to accept the position. His personal attachments, his devotion to Trinity, and the urgent appeal of all classes, have proved too strong for the Empire of Texas.—Enterprise.
