COUNCIL APPROVES
LICENSE TRANSFER

The St. Paul City Council last week approved the transfer of a liquor license from James (Jim) Williams to Chester Oden, Sr.

The license of Jim Williams' tavern at the corner of Kent and St. Anthony to Oden was acted on by the council April 29.

Reliable sources said that the tavern owner has purchased Oden's interest in the Square Deal Liquor Store.

Williams has been operating his tavern on the St. Anthony corner more than 30 years and is widely known in the community. Oden is the well known proprietor of Road Buddy's Cafe which is highly rated as "the place to dine" in the Twin Cities.
