The Cumberland Civilian says that on Sunday last, as a canal boat was passing through the four locks between the tunnel, a fight sprung up on board between a white man named Snyder, attached to one of the boats, and George, a negro belonging to the estate of Henry Bevans, deceased. During the fight, the combatants fell into the canal, where they renewed the struggle in the water, and carried it on so fiercely that in a short time both sunk to rise no more. Their bodies were afterwards recovered.
