LOVERS' LANE
The people around here are working on the road.
Mr. G.W. Hawkins was a business caller on Brooks VanGilder Monday.
Mr. Edd Carpenter is working for Mr. Jerome Summers at present.
Mrs. Valley Hawkins has been on the sick list for the past two weeks.
Misses Ina, Cassie and Mary Van Gilder, Verna Long, Messrs. Lester Gwyn, Ray Hutson and Joseph Van Gilder were calling on Misses Virginia and Dessie Summers Saturday night.
Ice cream was served.
There will be missionary meeting at Mt. Zion Sunday night at 8 o'clock, June 23.
Mr. Wm. Downey and daughter, Emma, have been very poorly for the past week.
Mrs. Susie Hawkins has been staying with them.
Mrs. Ella Vance is in our community at present.
We are expecting a new high school building in Winfield district.
We hope we won't fail to get it.
There will be preaching at Mt. Claire schoolhouse Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. Ira Davis. All are invited to come.
Misses Virginia and Dessie Summers were calling on Valley Hawkins Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. B.L. Summers and two children, Donald and Ruth, returned to their home at Wheeling where Mr. Summers has been employed in the Union ticket office for eight years.
Lloyd Murphy was in our community Sunday. He is employed at Adamson glass factory.
