Extract of a letter to the Editor of the Federal Republican, dated La Guayra, May 19.

The blockade of Porto Cabello continues; but the Republican force is insufficient to reduce the place. Commodore Daniels. with a credit from this government, is to go to the United States, in a few days, to augment the naval force of the Republic, and returning to supersede any other naval commander. In his absence, Com. Bougues is to direct the fleet at Porto Cabello. Morales has been completely cut to pieces. and will not be able, in person, to revisit Porto Cabello, that is if the blockade is efficient.

Bougues will lead the fleet at Porto Cabello. Morales has been decisively defeated and cannot return to Porto Cabello if the blockade holds.
