The Anniversary of American Independence was celebrated in this City on Monday by the usual Salutes of Artillery from the public stations, three times repeated in the course of the day. There were two Public Dinners on the occasion; one, of the friends of the present Administration, and another, of the Mechanics and others friendly to Internal Improvement, and to Henry Clay as the advocate of that and other true interests of the country. The company at the latter dinner was the most numerous, more than three hundred persons having dined thereat, being (it is said) much the largest company ever assembled at a public dinner in this city.
