S. M. Inglis, state superintendent of public instruction, is attending the county institute today. He addressed the teachers this afternoon, and will remain in the city until tomorrow.
Rev. W. H. Blancke, of Davenport, spoke before the institute this morning at the conclusion of the routine instruction on the injurious effects of liquor and narcotics.
Prof. S. Y. Gillan lectures at the Y. M. C. A. auditorium this evening on "Educational Progress of the Nineteenth Century." Music will be furnished by Mrs. J. S. Patton and W. A. Paul, of Moline, and H. R. Smith, of Rock Island.
