New Buildings.—During the coming summer Shreveport will witness considerable improvement in the way of new buildings.—Messrs. Walsh & Boisseau are already at work on their building on the levee. Mr. Conway has commenced the foundation of a two-story brick building on the corner of Texas street and the levee. Mr. Dew L. Tally has also laid the foundation of a two-story brick building which will front on Spring and Milam streets, with iron fronts. Messrs. Hope & Allen will erect a three-story brick building adjoining the Brooks House. Mr. R. Patterson will erect a large two-story brick building on Edwards between Texas and Milam streets. The Presbyterian society will erect an edifice on the corner of Edwards and Travis streets, which will cost $12,000 or $14,000. The Israelites will erect another to cost about the same amount.—Besides these, quite a number of private residences are under way. From the foregoing, it will be seen that our mechanics will have a busy time of it this summer.—[South-Western, 16th.
