THE CARRIERS of this Gazette,
have been strictly forbidden either to sell or give away, any of their papers; and should the Editor detect, or receive information of any person attempting to seduce them from the line of their duty, he will employ legal means for redress.--It has become a serious inconvenience, and those who are friendly to the interest of this paper, are requested to give such information as may be in their power on the subject, and they will confer an obligation on
THE EDITOR.
It is requested that Gentlemen who are neglected by the Carriers, will not permit several days to elapse without giving information of such neglect ; but immediately give notice, They shall be served regularly.
TO READERS AND CORRESPONDENTS.
" Lucius. " is a misnomer ; it should have been Luscious, the essay is indecent and inadmissible.
The author of the humorous and poetical parody of " Sweet Matilda Pottingen" is thanked for his classical favor. Under the lash of his "satiric thong" the Jacobins writhe with agony. He will find admirable models for a new Dunciad and Diaboliad in the Anti-Jacobin, or Weekly Examiner, a paper very different from our vulgar Gazettes ; a paper, the offspring of gentlemen and scholars, edited by ponies, contributed to by wit, fortified by wisdom, and protected by munificence.
We are delighted to recognize again the hand-writing of the good and wise character, who signs himself " No Infidel " His Essay shall be published on Monday ; and, we sincerely hope that it will fortify the weak, and fix the wavering.
