The Senate Committee on Epidemic Diseases.

Washington, February 22d.—The Senate Committee on Epidemic diseases, of which Senator Stanford is a member, has been in session to-day, and has listened to the statement of several prominent physicians as to the means which should be adopted to prevent the annual occurrence of yellow fever and other epidemic diseases. No definite action has yet been taken upon the subject of authorizing a commission to visit Mexico and investigate the method of inoculation for yellow fever, but it is believed the project is favored by a majority of the committee. Senator Stanford is entirely interested in the subject, and proves one of the most active and honest members of the committee.
