MACON. Ga.-(SNS)-
The provocation this week is to
write a tale of an untamed friend
of the Biblical figure Balaam. Our
better judgment comes forth and
we desist, knowing that as long as
the skins of some earthly worms
remains sun kissed they will be-
prone to do these standing imita-
tions of Balaam's trusty burro
Fear not, our very good friend. we
shall call no names point no
fingers.. throw no stones We
have been accused of intelligence:
so we have done this only to let
you know the town is mighty small
for "small talk " Oftimes. the talk-
er-about is the last to hear.
strangely enough. this time.
we
were among the first. Please. we
ask with veneration, doxology, doxo-
logy.
Well. as announced in this col-
umn in the past couple of weeks
the great surprise package we
promised is here in the form of
a brand new newspaper. dedicated
to educational, and civic uplift
Happy are a number of hearts
weak are a number of pockets
skeptical are lots of folk de-
termined is the staff of the paper
So with this great multiplicity of
diversified emotions. the BROAD-
CAST MARCHES ON! .
The inquisitive nature has come
to the fore again; so we must be-
gin to quiz our reader: Who was
the charming young school girl
who was maltreated on a certain
city transport some weeks ago, and
what was done about it? The next
question naturally is "How long
O Cataline. will you abuse my pa-
tience?" As long as these things
are allowed to happen and kept
under cover. they will continue to
happen It is high time. some de.
finite stops were taken to assure
safety of person morals and civic
rights on every hand
A story was told once that said
if ever you see a guy on the
ground, get way back get a run-
ning start and jump on him and
keep him there. Such is a some-
what natural tendency of an un-
democratic society. But a wise man
seldom allows an adversary to see
that he is down A full-blooded
man will start to rise when he sees
the antagonist getting back to run
and jump A man caught before
he can rise will put up terrible
scuffle once he feels the trampling
foot on his neck
Further discussion is hardly
necessary, This sort of thing must
be stopped...the implication is
hard to stomach. the actual oc-
currence is repulsive Our speech
is spoken, but we remember Bab-
cock saying:
I have no fear.
What is in store for me
God grant my only cowardice
may be
Afraid
to be afraid!
Brother
Eatmore Jones is still
holding sway on the avenue. His
accuracy
is
sometime actually
startling. The past few weeks he
has made it totally impossible to
compile a record;
almost every
time he's almost straight. he has
to add to the debit side of his
ledger. He actually swore in the
presence of some of the members
of the Grand Lodge of I Wil Arise
and Meet The Milkman that 986
was 344 figures away from 276 and
516 would be no cause for distur-
bance if 117 were placed beside 174
with 660 turned upside down on the
left side of 342 or vice versa with
652 to back up the 837 monosyl-
labic consonant. His protagonist,
Gatemouth Waverly, called him a
neurotic imbecile. but. Brother Eat-
more went away mumbling 553-
631-773 and we "ain't seed him no
no' ". If he keeps up the good
work. we'll be yelling Hell Eat-
nore in a few days.
A cameraman is loose in this
community. taking pictures of just
about everyone who crosses his lo-
cal length The fact is. there are
several. maybe a dozen Charm-
ing. ladies and sharp "cats" might
well be on their p's and q's..candid
one of the mad finds suffering
from cameraitis.
