In the following paragraph from the Worcester Aegis, the charges alleged against Mr. Russell by Mr. Hunt, are gravely assigned as the cause which has determined Mr. R. to decline a re-election to Congress.
Credat Judaeus Apella:
"In consequence of the attacks upon his reputation by 'Ariel,' in the person of Seth Hunt, who lives in Burlington (Vt.) Mr. Russell has been obliged to resort to the law for the vindication of his character, and until that is confirmed, he judiciously declines any honor which his fellow-citizens of the district may confer upon him."
