Accounts from Turk's-Island inform, that Col. Murray of that place had issued a Proclamation, declaring his intention of taking possession of all vessels and their cargoes that should be stranded, or cast away on that Island.—In pursuance of which he had taken possession of the American schooner Martin and Catherine, which had run aground on the Beach. and was using his endeavors to get them off, for the benefit (as he avowed) of the owners and underwriters. However strange this line of conduct may appear, he was countenanced in it by the Governor of that place.
