Improve Biz

GREEN BAY, Wis.

Larger railroads, please take note!

Here's a railroad that is doing something to provide better service and improve business.

The Green Bay & Western Railroad recently added another crew between Green Bay and Wisconsin Rapids.

There formerly were four regular crews, two through jobs and two doing way work and attempting to haul long trains. The new service has four through jobs and one doing way work on a tri-weekly basis, which gives local patrons almost daily service by the back-haul method.

"The management stated it had come to realize that long trains were not the answer to more profits and could give better service under the new plan,"

reported H. E. Little, agent official publication of Lodge 445.

"Incidentally,"

he added,

"this railroad was the only road to pay profits during the depression years. Now it has taken another forward step."
