Our Letters from Smyrna, dated Dec. 5th. N. S. bring Advice, that Sari Bey Oglou, who retired for some Time into the Mountains, upon the Arrival of the two Turkish Bashaws and the Ottoman Forces sent against him, having found Means to augment his Troops to the Number of 20,000 Men, issued out of the Mountains again, and renewed his Ravages in the Provinces adjacent to Smyrna; that the Bashaws being informed of his Motions, called in all their Detachments, and intrenched themselves in an advantageous Camp near that City; but that Sari Bey Oglou, not being in the least daunted at their Dispositions, marched up to the Turks, attacked them in their Trenches, and, after a very obstinate Engagement forced them to fly.

Sari Bey Oglou retired into the Mountains upon the Arrival of the two Turkish Bashaws and the Ottoman Forces sent against him, but augmented his Troops to 20,000 Men, issued out again, and renewed his Ravages in the Provinces adjacent to Smyrna.
