Improved landing fields are available at Culiacan, Mazatlan, Mexico City, Guatemala and elsewhere along the route chosen, it was declared by Capt. Ellis. Many of the present landing fields are maintained by the Mexican government, soldiers being employed in part in construction and maintenance work.

Establishment of the new air link with Mexico should result in inestimable trade value for Los Angeles, it was pointed out by Messrs. Wren and Morgan, as the added facilities in travel and mail communication undoubtedly will attract much of the volume of trade now going to the Atlantic seaboard.
