Full Text

There are Recruiting Parties of the Marines, in most of the Market Towns in the North, which induce the Country People to believe that we are upon the Eve of a War. Indeed, from several recent Circumstances, we in Town may have just Reason to cherish such Thoughts, especially if we look upon the Proceedings of France in a Light that common Prudence teaches us to do. What makes Lord North so confident of Peace, at least for six Months to come, is, that he thinks the young King of France is so religious a Man that he would sooner resign his Crown than commence a War with any Nation while his own is in Mourning for his Grandfather.
