A great number of towns remain to be heard from ; which, we trust, will increase the present majority. Beside, our statements are now principally derived from democratic papers.
The new Vermont legislature will meet in October.
[Boston pap.
A gentleman who left Northfield, Vermt. on Wednesday morning 14th inst. was then informed, by an intelligent person, that it was believed the state government would be federal in all its branches. Mr. senator Bradley, has been met on the road from Vermont to Connecticut; he stated, that the delegation to congress would be two federal and two democratic. There is but one federalist from that state in the present congress.
Mr. Hubbard and Mr. Chipman are undoubtedly chosen and we expect one more.
